A Prayer | A Plea
2020
When one has too much happiness and contentment that is bound to the physical world, one prays that it trickles into the afterlife. But to claim familial kinship without any blood ties is to willingly drown in delusion and lie. Now stuck in a void with people one finds familiarity in the physicality but never in sentimentality, one tries to find a semblance of the happiness and contentment that they have long forgotten. Before that time comes, one pleads to the Almighty to be gracious; to let these moments continue; to let these memories stay; to allow the loved ones to build another narrative together.
A Prayer | A Plea hopes to expound on premeditated grief, paying homage to the emotional memory and familial narrative that are bound to perish. It is a plea to a higher being, lest it becomes mere history.
